Warts

Warts are benign skin growths caused by a virus, human papilloma virus. They may occur anywhere on the skin, and when found on the bottom of the foot, are referred to as plantar warts. They are easily treated with a brief in-office procedure, although multiple treatments may be required to clear the wart. We recommend treating the warts when they are first noted, to avoid enlargement and spreading of the lesions.

Dr. Sadoff will recommend the specific treatment regimen to provide optimal clearing of the lesions based on several factors, including the size, number, and location of the warts, as well as patient preference. Although the virus can be spread between individuals after contact with infected skin, many times only one member of the family will have warts.
