Bacterial Infections

Bacterial infections may appear as pus bumps on the skin, large boils or crusting wounds. Kids may be prone to impetigo, which is a Staph bacterial infection, classically appearing on the face, as yellow crusted areas. Bacterial infections involving the hair follicles, spread by shaving, are common over the beard area and also on the legs of women. These infections do not always require oral antibiotics, especially if diagnosed early, and we may recommend a particular skin wash and topical ointments.
